Makeup Tutorial: Makeover Essentials 24/7 Makeup Portfolio Sunrise and Sunset

After writing a pretty extensive review on some Makeover Essentials products yesterday, I decided to set myself the challenge of creating two different looks for the Sunrise and Sunset compact sets from the 24/7 Makeup Portfolio. I could only use the products from the kit (meaning I ended up with a pretty questionable eyebrow colour) except for brushes.

 Sunrise

1: Top left: Cover the whole lid with the lightest colour, including the inner corner and brow bone.
2: Top right: Blend the tan colour into the crease.
3: Bottom left: Mix the darkest and mid colour together and blend from the outer corner and into the crease.
4: Bottom right: Go back over the middle of the lid with the lightest colour.

5: Top left: Go along the lash line with an ankled brush and darkest eyeshadow.
6: Top right: Draw along the top lash line and bottom waterline with the brown eyeliner pencil.
7: Bottom left: Fill in eyebrow with the brown eyeliner pencil.
8: Bottom right: Apply black eyeliner.

This look's pretty tame considering what I usually go for; I don't tend to tone it down or go for the natural look so this was new territory for me. All I can see is the eyeliner pencil; the eyeshadow had so little pigment in it, which was really disappointing. I'd suggest using the mid or dark brown with an angled brush for a softer eyebrow.

Sunset

1: Top left: Cover the top lid in the darkest purple.
2: Top right: Blend the mid purple into the crease.
3: Bottom left: Add the lilac into the inner corner and brow bone.
4: Bottom right:  Add the pink blush under the eye.

5: Top left: Draw along the top and bottom lash lines with the black eyeliner pencil.
6: Top middle: Draw in eyebrows with the brown eyeliner pencil.
7: Top right: Add black mascara; the more coats you add, the more dramatic.

This look was slightly prettier than Sunrise but still disappointing in terms of pigment. The black eyeliner pencil doesn't draw on the waterline very well and pretty much disappears within seconds; definitely not good for the bottom waterline. Also, I wouldn't advise using brown eyeliner pencil on your eyebrows as if looks a bit rubbish.
